What is the Diversity Immigrant Visa Program ( DV-2009)?
The DV-2008 Green card Lottery registration period ended on December 3, 2006. We will be accepting application for the DV-2009 Green card Lottery (2009 Diversity Immigrant Visa Program). The purpose of the program is to increase diversity within the United States through random lottery winners from select countries.

Winners are selected only after completing an entry from for the DV-2009, located on MyUSGreencard.com, and submitting it in a timely manner, complete and without any errors. Any minor errors or late submissions will significantly decrease your chances of being selected in the DV-2009 Green card Lottery.
Although there has been a new green card lottery every year, there is no guarantee that there will be a DV-2010. There may be a change in the US Immigration Policy, ending the Diversity Immigrant Visa Program. Apply now at MyUSGreencard.com to win a green card, as it may be the last time the program runs.
Which year should I apply for?
Applicants will be applying for the DV-2009 Diversity Immigrant Program from MyUSGreencard.com. The year of the program refers to the year in which the green cards are awarded. If you apply now for the DV-2009, you will be award your green card in 2009. Please be sure to not fill out any applications for the DV-2008, as the registration ended in December 2006.
When is the deadline for the DV-2009 Lottery?
The State Department has a set time frame for which you can apply for the 2009 Immigrant Diversity Visa Program. Applications must be submitted between October 5, 2007 and December 4, 2007. When will I be notified that I won the DV-2009 Green card Lottery?
Selected winners of the DV-2009 Diversity Immigrant Visa Program will be notified and issued their green card between October 1, 2009 and September 30, 2009.
